Are you planning to buy a point-and-shoot camera? Due to extreme competition in the market of P&S cameras, manufactures are coming up with various features and impressive price tags to draw the attention of buyers. So, which is the best point-and-shoot camera in 2017?

When I went to shop a point-and-shoot camera for upcoming summer vacations, I hardly had any idea about the countless options available. I was shocked to see so many models, each offering exciting features. Here are some point-and-shoot camera models that drew my attention.

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX100

Sony, one of the leaders in this market, offers an excellent looking point-and-shoot camera in Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX100. It has a large image sensor and 3.6x zoom. You can get super image quality pictures using the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX100 and that’s why it is very popular among photographers all around the world.

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX100 offers customizable controls, fast lens, 20.2 megapixel resolution, large and sharp LCD screen, and support for RAW shooting. What more can you expect from a point-and-shoot camera? With a price tag of $650, it is an affordable camera for those who love to take high quality pictures.

Olympus Tough TG-4

Olympus has been trying very hard to capture a good share in the point-and-shoot market with quality products at an affordable price. Olympus Tough TG-4 has a higher resolution with 16 megapixel sensor. It is waterproof up to 50 feet and is resistant to cold, dust and crushing. Olympus Tough TG-4 supports Wi-Fi and raw shooting and is a pocket friendly camera that is suitable for both professionals and starters.

The quality of images taken using Olympus Tough TG-4 is of very good quality, making it one of the best affordable models to buy. You can get Olympus Tough TG-4 at less than $400. that’s $350 less compared to the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX100.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS50

Panasonic like Olympus has been in this market for a few years now and is trying to offer customers with the futuristic point-and-shoot cameras at reasonable price. Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS50 is compact with 30x zoom lens and integrated EVF. It also supports raw editing. Using the Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS50, you can get excellent quality ISO images without any difficulty. The Wi-Fi supported model offers 12 megapixel and customizable controls. With the price tag of less than $400, it is a good buy.

All these options are very good point-to-shoot cameras with affordable price tags. I personally prefer Sony Cyber Shot because of the crystal clear image quality it offers, but both Panasonic and Olympus do give a tough competition to the Sony Cyber shot. Select your option and enjoy!
